A CDM Client Advisor can help ensure that the client is meeting their legal obligations, mitigating the risk of criminal prosecution. In addition, the CDM Advisor can independently monitor both the Principal Designer, through the pre-construction design phase, and the Principal Contractor throughout the construction phase, ensuring both duty holders are discharging their obligations effectively.
The CDM Client Advisor role is an advisory role that can help ensure that your project goals are met on time, on budget while securing the health and safety of all involved, vastly reducing the risk of criminal prosecution by mitigating the risk of breaching the regulations.
As a Client or Principal Contractor for a project you may not have the time, resourcing or competence to fully understand and comply with your duties under the CDM Regulations 2015, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
In such cases, it may be appropriate to appoint a CDM advisor for your project. The CDM advisor then ensures you stay complaint and undertakes vital duties on your behalf with relation to paperwork, F10 submission and monitoring the arrangements throughout the project.
CS.UK can assist you with this service and have successfully undertaken a varied range of appointments as CDM advisor. Our service incorporates the following:
CDM or Building Regulations Principal Designer
The CDM Principal Designer focuses specifically on health and safety compliance under the CDM Regulations. Whereas the Building Safety Act Principal Designer ensures compliance with the broader set of building regulations governing the design and construction of buildings
The Building Safety Act 2022 represents a landmark reform in the UK’s approach to building safety, introduced in response to significant incidents such as the Grenfell Tower fire.
This comprehensive legislation aims to reshape how buildings are designed, constructed, and maintained, placing safety and accountability at the forefront of the process.
The Building Safety Act places significant responsibilities on those involved in the design and management of building safety risks. As Principal Designers, our role is crucial in ensuring that safety is considered at every stage of the design and construction process.
We help clients meet their obligations under the Building Safety Act by coordinating health and safety throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance and enhancing overall building safety.
Under the Building Safety Act, Principal Designers have a legal duty to plan, manage, and monitor the pre-construction phase, ensuring that all design decisions prioritise safety and that risks are communicated clearly to all stakeholders.
As Principal Designers, we play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and integrating safety into the design and construction process.
